Let the Short Sleeves Season Begin!

The season of short sleeves will be upon us soon. Really! We’re certain that the Longest, Wettest, Dreariest Winter EVER (literally!) is about to turn a corner and deliver us into a gloriously warm and sunny summer. We all need to be prepared to luxuriate in the golden rays of the big bright thing in the sky known as the Sun! Momo has got you covered in the department of uncovering your arms. For your viewing pleasure, a small selection of cool picks for days ahead:

WRK’s NYC snappy aesthetic in a perfect weight linen.

Aloha from Hawaii! Kahala’s playful prints
compliment the rugged durability of their shirts.

You can always count on Portland’s own Bridge and Burn
for stylish, comfortable textiles.

Cotton and linen fabrics with great hand and fun patterns!

We love the tiny fish print.

Bridge and Burn for ladies. The dreamy “Brookings” top
is as light as a summer breeze.

Bunnies! Squirrels! Elephants!
What is not to love about this adorable Three Stones cami?

As always, Prairie Underground provides easy, comfortable style.
Hopefully we’ll see you (and the sun, AND our naked arms) soon at Momo!

Spring Scores at the Momo Good Fortune Sale

“That’s the way the cookie crumbles!” is a good thing when it comes to our Momo semi-annual sale happening for the next two weeks. It’s our way of offering you incredible deals while making room for new goodies ... and, as the proverbial THEY say, “Early bird gets the worm!” But then again, we often randomly mark down new items, so it’s all a fun game of chance, with every one a winner. Here’s how it works:
  • Decide that you need to go home with a SALE item.
  • Bring said SALE item to the counter.
  • Pick a tasty, crunchy fortune cookie out of a jar and open it.
  • Inside is a special fortune giving you an ADDITIONAL 10% - 30% OFF THE SALE PRICE.
  • Eat cookie. Do not eat fortune.
  • Leave feeling stylish and smug for saving money.
Hope to see you at Momo soon!
Prairie Underground’s ‘Leaf Miner’ is sleek yet comfy.

Reindeer leather adorns the cuffs
of Finland’s Marita Huurinainen cardigan.

Wom&Now tunic-length cardi is toasty warm.
We love the striped details.

Retro but not campy - Marigold’s
tunic dress is wrinkle-proof and flattering.

Prairie Underground, complete with their signature
pocket ruching! Love love love the easy fit.

Wom&Now’s drop-waist dress is another low-maintenance, wrinkle-free piece.
The playful floral graphic is rendered in the subtle colors that Seattle prefers.

Men’s clothing is also a part of the Good Fortune Sale! Here’s a sampling of what the gents can look forward to scoring:

Azul jersey crew has a great texture. Pair with this
navy Bench zip-through hoodie for a casual day out.

Stylish but not stuffy: Bruun & Stengade button-up
layered with a Raffi sweater.

Take your pic: merino wool Raffi 1/4-zip sweaters
in soft taupe, classic blue or black.

The Shape of Spring: It’s All About the Box

This season, the quiet simplicity of the rectangle is squarely a winner. After too many rounds of handkerchief hems, boxy tops, tunics and dresses look fresh and new. Uncomplicated, ageless, elegant — not to forget versatile — we truly love the way spring is shaping up. Here’s a smattering of recent arrivals:

Fresh from Los Angeles we have Me & Arrow. The black cropped top features Dolman sleeves and a flattering scoop-neck. The second top is slightly longer and boxier, with cuffed half-sleeves. The natural linen color plays well with others!

Made of organic hemp and cotton, this Prairie Underground top is delicately striped, soft as a feather and beautifully breathable.

Another terrific Prairie Underground piece, this time a dress. With pockets! Available in a navy and white pinstripe.

Me & Arrow again with a  super soft slate/cadet blue tunic. With, you guessed it, pockets! We at Momo truly do love utility.

So how best to wear the square? Pop a cropped top over a slip dress (one of our favorite secrets, über comfortable and no showing/binding at the waist) or pair it with slim pants or jeans. The boxy dress makes a super backdrop for jewelry or a scarf, or if you desire more definition, add a belt. Done!

Cozy Up to Color

Maybe it’s just Momo Mama, but I swear it’s sunnier in Seattle, even during this recent cold snap. So does this mean our love affair with shades of black and grey — or as we like to call it, light black — is fading? Could it be that in our brightened winter, we are seeking more cheer in our lives?

Seattle’s favorite Prairie Underground makes it easy to stay cozy in color with their great line up of sweatshirt-weight hoodies. Like this Ribbon Victorian in Emerald.

And one of their newest styles, Tiny Dancer ... a dash of detail and shorter length. Love this Deep Blue.

Another new take on a favorite swing top: the Amulet Pullover. It’s here in Ink Pot, a rich shade of aubergine for you purple people.
Speaking of Eggplant, Seacliff from Curator of San Francisco keeps out the cold with a deluxe collar in super-soft fleece.

For French Wine lovers, Musas is an easy dress to pop-on for work to weekend from Cop-copine Paris.
The fabric is amazing, with the feel of scuba knit. Ideal for travel.

Navy is the new black: Yannic is spiced up with flecks of turquoise and rose by Skunkfunk of Spain. Plus, it has zippers and pockets!
So Seattle.

One of the prettiest colors and shapes in the shop is brought to us by Curator of San Francisco. They call it Darling in Evergreen. I call it charming! The nipped in waist is enhanced by a vintage kimono obi from Katherine Ragghianti.

And if you really want to go wild with color, try wearing white in Seattle. Bench brings us the Portwood, a cuddly hoodie in luscious Winter White, like jammies for the street.

For those of you who still desire the reliability of neutrals, we offer these ways to stay warm. From former snowboard gear designer, Three Stones, the seam-sealed Getaway jacket in Charcoal.

And Leadplay, a Black-and-White flecked sweater from Bench ...

... and hello Dali, so right for that holiday party, a very cool graphic dress. Note zippers at shoulder and hem — from Sunlight of Paris — sleeveless yes, but just throw on a basic black cardi!

Seasons Change

The days are growing shorter, the nights cooler. Soon the sidewalks of Seattle will be littered with brilliant leaves as autumn encroaches.

Here at Momo we've begun to stock up on some of our favorite fall colors by such designers as Only Hearts, Tabisocks and Prairie Underground. Gold and russet, crimson and plum - all of the shades that evoke the crisp coolness of Fall and the pleasures of hot apple cider, corn mazes, the first crackling fires of the season.

Stop by to peruse saturated wine-red petticoats, dark amethyst tulle tops and chocolate brown leggings as well as new Prairie Underground Cloak Hoodies in mulberry and ink-pot (a deep, delicious purple). Stock up on essentials and stay stylish and cozy this Fall!

Lovely autumnal goodies!
