Looking Forward to Blues Skies . . . and Shirts

Spring’s promise of brighter skies is reflected in this capsule collection of new menswear.
Toronto-based shirt maker, & Sons, considers developing their own fabrics as an essential component of design. Their easy-to-wear shirts bring a distinctive style that both elevates and complements a man’s wardrobe. We love & Sons hand-printed woodblock pattern in subdued shades of taupe and blue.

& Sons subtle blue-on-blue floral shirt in 100% Tencel,
a sustainable pulp product, has the heft of sturdy cotton
with the feel and sheen of silk.

Copenhagen-based Bruun & Stengade’s designs always convey a bit of dapper urbanity. The pure cotton shirts with micro patterns feature a cutaway collar for subtle-yet-stylish European flair.

Enduring Saint James cotton knits mirror the sea
in two flavors of blue.

Bench is designed with British weather in mind. This windbreaker has a drawstring waist and snap pockets, perfect for our chilly Pacific NW mist and gusts.

Into the Blue

At the Vegas shows, modeling Saint James! Tom in the “Minquier” jersey shirt in Marine/Ecru while Lei Ann is lovely in the classic cotton knit “Luneray” dress.
Last summer, Mr. Momo and Momo Mama went to Vegas, braving the heat and the crowds to put together a fantastic Spring 2015 collection for you. What is the trend for men this spring? Indigo, marine, navy, midnight and of course blue! Add a dash of grey and charcoal, focus on micro-patterns and florals, emphasize comfort and fit and you have a recipe for the perfect au courant Spring wardrobe.

Here is a teaser for what our gentlemen can look for in the coming days, as modeled by our very own Tom.

From Copenhagen, designer Bruun Stengade’s
“Sydney” jacket.
An“Alternative” to blue, by UK’s Bench

WRK “Lowell” in a soft grey plaid.
NYC’s WRK “Tarik” cotton henley.
New to Momo: Z.A.K. short-sleeved shirt
in a lush navy floral print.

Momo Loves Ewe!

The kinder, gentler Year of the Sheep is an excellent occasion to share affection. The marriage of love and lamb only happens every 12 years, so celebrate with passion.

Or chocolate! Persuasively presented Icelandic OmNom is handcrafted with organic ingredients. Dark Milk + Burned Sugar, 55% cacao, is made with Dominican beans featuring slightly smoky toffee and caramel notes. 70% cacao Papua New Guinea is redolent of nutty leather, tobacco and buttery smooth bourbon.

Lithuanian chocolatier Mulaté, crafts organic bars with a) romantic packaging! and b) luscious flavor combinations (think tahini, cayenne, rich vanilla, cinnamon). From classic extra-dark to sesame seed-studded milk, there’s something to tantalize your sweetie’s taste buds.

Share the art of the heart with tiny dioramas from Portland’s Sparrow and Sundry. Handmade with repurposed wood and illuminated with eco-friendly LEDs, they’ll light up the smile of any lucky recipient.

Speaking of heart-breakingly adorable, Flora and Fawn (aka Momo Girl Angela) created a few special enameled heart pendants if you’re on the search for dainty meets colorful.

And lastly, nothing says je t’aime like a classic Saint James French sailor shirt shirt. Finally, the ever-popular taupe/noir combo has arrived. Practical, durable and eternally stylish — a great gift idea for the Mister on your list. We also received new dresses for women, including striped cap-sleeve and 3/4-sleeves.

We wish your upcoming Valentine’s day and year of the sheep is filled with as much fun as two pink flamingos and love as hot as a Vance Family candle. Our best to Toni Yuly for the sweet sheepy drawing. And to you all, thank you for being a part of Momo. xoxoxo
