Summer Black

What the heck, we’re sticking with ‘if you can’t beat ’em ...’ and heading back to black. The other day, cutie couple Lisa and Jesse both walked out of Momo clad in their new jackets to stave off the summer chill. One of the first to discover our Samuel Dong trench ($173), Lisa loved the zipper pulls and hidden hood zipped into the collar. BF Jesse was tickled that our Bench sweater jacket ($134) accommodated his long, lean frame without added bulk around the middle. And as always, we have more of Seattle’s favorite color in stock ... if you need a wardrobe that will carry you through June-uary and right into the Northwest fall, come give us a visit.

Sunny Disposition

Last week, the promise of summer-coming-soon compelled us to pull out our colorful new collection of clothing from Amsterdam. We know the rare appearance of sun in Seattle makes warm-weather clothing an indulgence, but DEPT’s affordable prices make it easy to enjoy the Caribbean bright hues and lightweight blends of linen, cotton and silk. On a slow, sunny Saturday, Ms. Jessica decided to take a break in a cute halter dress with ruffled hem. Nice shades, glam girl.

Chemical Attraction

Where the heck is Boulevard Park? An unknown neighborhood of Seattle, it’s on our radar as the workshop location of our favorite husband+wife bagsmiths, Chemical Wedding (chemical-wedding.blogspot.com). Last week, Tracy (the She) came through our door laden with bags, all custom-made for Momo. We’ve carried the satchels since we opened 2-1/2 years ago, and they keep getting lovelier with each order (both the bags and Tracy+Jon). Meticulously made of post-industrial scrap leather — some beautifully burnished by hand — wood and/or hand-forged findings, you can be pretty sure that every one one is unique. At Momo, we feel fortunate to be able to carry such special creations ... and we’re always happy to share.
