From the time she won the ‘Color the Bunny’ contest at five years old, my sister knew she was destined for the graphic design world. Now she’s a partner in her own Honolulu-based firm, Mozaic. Between promoting a plethora of the islands most posh resorts, they create exotic paper goods. To welcome the Lunar New Year of the Dragon, her team has designed a laser-cut card that transforms into a lovely luminaire. The Year of the Water Dragon begins Monday, January 23 — share the energy of the dramatic dragon with this glowing greeting.
[Available at Momo, $6.50 for the card, flameless candle, additional cost]
New Winter Hours: Starting tomorrow, Momo will be closed for the next three Sundays to give Leland and our little shop a rest. We will re-open Sundays beginning January 29th, 12-5 for the neighborhood Lunar New Year celebration. Happy Year of the Dragon!

Momo is the little shop on the corner of Sixth Avenue South and South Jackson Street, the crossroads of Seattle’s Japantown. The historic neighborhood, decimated after the 1942 Executive Order 9066 which forced the removal of all Japanese Americans from the West Coast, is seeing a quiet renewal. Present-day treasures include unique boutiques, galleries, a barbershop and salons, fame-ish sushi restaurants, a landmark tea house and a beautiful secret garden. Come discover the revival!
