In Praise of Shorts!

Any man may be in good spirits and good temper when he's wearing shorts.” ~misappropriated Dickens

“Shorts are a bifurcated garment worn by both men and women over their pelvic area, circling the waist, and covering the upper part of the legs.” So says Wikipedia.

We at Momo say: shorts are the greatest article of summertime clothing ever invented! They keep you cool and keep you looking cool. A practical and stylish way to stay naturally air-conditioned.

  1. Short and Sweet

Why was such a cute girl being so short with him, he asked himself. He had put her on his shortlist of adorable girls he’d seen in the China Club, with her short pink hair in a tousled pixie cut and her cheeks tinted the color of vin rose. True, she was short but then so was he; still her legs were long in her well-cut shorts and that took her out of the hobbit category that so often short-changed girls who were under five foot two. Too bad she had a tongue as sharp as razor wire.

But he wasn’t a man who would accept short shrift willingly. He left the bar but his absence was short-lived; he returned in a matter of minutes with a small white box in his hand. Smiling, he approached the short-tempered girl of his dreams, “I thought perhaps you might like a snack. I bought you some strawberry shortcake.”

“How did you know my blood sugar is at absolute zero—you’re incredible, thanks so much,” and in a short time, only a trace of pink remained on the take-out plate, making him certain that this brief encounter wouldn’t have a short shelf life.

Janet, you make short work of short stories. In short, I admire a short woman who is never short on words. Make it short between our next meeting ... lala
