Cozy Sole Mates

Back in stock just in time for chilling: our unbelievably popular Hamaguri “Room Socks,” designed and crafted in Japan.

Leave it to the Japanese to create the perfect hybrid between a sock and a slipper — extra cushiony for maximum coziness. Why not change into a pair of Hamaguri when you come home? Not only do they cuddle the feet, they help you leave the outdoors outside, and protect the floors from scuffing. Plus, tiny grips on the bottom ensure that no matter how groggy you are in the morning, you’ll be safe from slipping while shuffling to make your first mug of coffee.

Grippy nubbins.

Each pair is sewn individually on specially designed machines, then carefully hand-embroidered with a contrasting triangle pattern around the ankle. Hamaguri translates to ‘clam’ in Japanese, a subtle reference to the stitched finish, said to resemble the mollusk’s shell. With proper care (gentle machine wash, lay flat to dry) a pair will last through many hours of relaxing wear.

Hand-embroidered "clams" add a nice touch.

Momo offers more than a few choices. First, there’s the classic room sock that comes in a rainbow of colors for women, as well as navy, cobalt and charcoal for men. Second, we have two more women’s styles in luxuriously soft blends in an array of subtle shades. Thirdly, for the animal aficionado, we’ve got a selection of kawaii animal motifs. Plus, there’s more in store, we’ll share when you get here.

The Classic room sock. This is just a sampling of the colors available.

Little cuties!

Super comfortable, easy-to-fit, highly likely to please, and gentle on the wallet, room socks make terrific gifts for everyone on your list. They’ll think you're a sock star for giving their feet a cozy treat.

Harumi K : Love

Harumi K designer Sherry!

Meet Momo newcomer Harumi K aka Sherry Koyama. Harumi K clothing was borne from Sherry’s desire to create garments that are versatile, comfortable and low-maintenance. Featuring modern lines and textural fabrics (which are made with American grown cotton!), Harumi K pieces are flattering and easy-to-wear — and don’t we love that? Bonus: they transition beautifully from work to play, as well as from season to season, a major plus in our somewhat-fair-weather city!

Sherry will be one of the trio of designers we’re hosting during next week’s trunk show. Also joining the fun are local jeweler Angela Muhlnickel of Little Teal, and Ursa Caratolo, curator of stylish Italian handbags. They’re happy to share a few tips for transitioning into fall. Here are the deets:

Shades for Seattle Rainshine

Eyebobs sunglasses and readers have a cult following, and with good reason: their hand-finished, optical quality frames make them comparable to “designer” eyewear at a significantly better price. Momo owners Lei Ann and Tom own multiple pairs fitted with their prescriptions.

While the summer sun has been somewhat lacking this year, we’re confident it will eventually break through. In anticipation of those bright days, Momo scored a batch of Eyebobs sunglasses at a special promo deal, giving you an opportunity to pick up a pair at an amazing price.

Here’s a sample of the sunglasses styles we have on hand:

Need a little visual boost? Eyebobs readers are fun and fashionable, and come in a selection of diopters. We are more than happy to special-order any of the frames we offer in the diopters strength you need. Check out our styles of readers below, and drop into Momo for your next pair of distinctive eyewear.

As a bonus, your purchases support a company that has it eyes on the future giving back via its philanthropic partnerships, funding cancer research, homelessness solutions and scholarship programs.

SHELTER FROM THE STORMS

It’s the time of year the southwest winds bring rain to the Northwest. Our damp season demands versatile all-weather outerwear, and at Momo, we’ve found the perfect solutions, beginning with: Baro Drywear. Based in Vancouver, BC, their focus is technical jackets styled for the street — taped seams, breathable fabric, moisture-wicking lining and of course, waterproof.

Military-inspired “Brockton” features a fishtail back and adjustable hood.

In loden green or black, the Brockton offers room for layering
while maintaining trim profile.

The tailored “Dean” jacket has street smart styling
and the same waterproof technical construction.

Many know Gramicci as a pioneering rock-climbing clothier. This season, the company collaborated with Japanese designers to produce Gramicci JP. The result? A good-looking work jacket where outdoor utility meets practical urban style ... at work, in the studio, or out-and-about.

Always classic: Saint James Nemo fisherman smock is a staple for mariners in cold climes from the coast of Brittany to the British Isles. Made of heavy canvas with an interior pocket, this pullover is Northwest ready, whether you’re on the water, in the woods or around town.

So ... The Good Fortune Sale Continues!

We’re heading into the last week, yet there are still quite a few fabulous picks on the rack. Here’s a peek at what you could score with bonus fortune cookie discounts at Momo!

Body Bag by Jude open-backed dress features low-maintenance fabrics ... and pockets! Momo has this easy-to-wear piece in pale pink (shown), black, navy and wine. Go ahead, show off that tattoo.

Direct from France: this flattering piece by Deca, perfect to pair with leggings. Available in black. We’re down to only one of each size, so get one before it’s gone!

Aloha-esque Japanese fabric, what's not to love! Short-sleeved cotton camp shirt from Naked and Famous. This one is particularly suited for petite women, as it runs a tad small.

We only have two of these Me & Arrow dresses left! Soft, drapey fabric in a lovely shade of camel. Momo Girl Alyssa wears hers often! Come fall, you can layer it over a long-sleeve tee and pull on the boots — it’s the color of the season.

Another Me & Arrow catch! Eggshell-colored cotton gauze tank goes with pretty much everything. We also have this in the same camel color as the tent dress.

Let’s face it: Cop Copine knows how to perfectly balance “playful yet elegant.” This side silhouette is available in sizes Small (38) and Medium (40). A conversation starter at your next cocktail party.

From Portland designer Bridge and Burn, this sassy, versatile dress can be worn with the V-neck in front or back, or the belt can be tied in the front or back. And ... wait ... it ... has ... pockets!

A simple, neutral zip-back shell from Caara dresses up or down with equal ease. And it goes with black, of course.

For the indigo girl, blue ikat tee via Prairie Underground, available in Small and Medium.

And last but not last (there’s more in store): Wom&Now: a silky tunic adorned with leaves and colorful birds. Also available in sky blue and candy pink.

Confucius say, if you don’t come to Momo to take advantage of our Good Fortune sale:

Uh oh, take heed of cookie! The clock is winding down, but you’ve still got time to pop in and try your luck. Remember, everyone is a winner!
