Glad for Dad

Dads have the annoying tendency to buy themselves the things they want before anyone else has the chance. Well, we at Momo can help you find a little sumptin’ sumptin’ to surprise Dad this Father's Day. Here’s a sample of gifts that we think he’d love:

For the Dapper Dad: Lorenzo Uomo fun socks from Italy. Your choice of fine merino wool or cotton ensures the ultimate in comfort.

Maybe Dad is more of a backyard grill master? A Hawaiian Kahala shirt will be perfect for warm summer evenings spent barbecuing.

Nothing says “Cool Dad” like a natty straw hat. We have two styles, both from New York Hat Co. (the oldest American hat manufacturing company)! Perhaps Dad is playful and a bit quirky? SumoFish shirts fit the bill to a tee.

What dad wouldn’t appreciate top-of-the-line personal grooming products? Billy Jealousy (winner of awards from Men’s Health, Real Beauty, Instinct, Motley and Esquire) is our go-to in this department. Momo has facial scrub, cleanser, moisturizer, aftershave and super slick shave cream as well as their signature shampoo and styling gel.

Drop by, say hi ... We’ve got Father’s Day covered, from head to toe. And as always, we love love love to gift-wrap for you.

Happy Daddy’s Day!

The season of short sleeves will be upon us soon. Really! We’re certain that the Longest, Wettest, Dreariest Winter EVER (literally!) is about to turn a corner and deliver us into a gloriously warm and sunny summer. We all need to be prepared to luxuriate in the golden rays of the big bright thing in the sky known as the Sun! Momo has got you covered in the department of uncovering your arms. For your viewing pleasure, a small selection of cool picks for days ahead:

You can always count on Portland’s own Bridge and Burn
for stylish, comfortable textiles.

Cotton and linen fabrics with great hand and fun patterns!

We love the tiny fish print.

Bridge and Burn for ladies. The dreamy “Brookings” top
is as light as a summer breeze.

Glad for Dad

Dad, Pops, Old Man, Big Daddy ... Sir — no matter what you call your father, call your father! It’s Dad’s Day, Sunday, June 19. And to show him that you appreciate everything he does, give him a little love from Momo.

For the Dandy Dada, Lorenzo Uomo socks from Italy and hats from family-owned and run, New York Hat and Cap Company.

Since he’s partially responsible for your good looks, make him look good, too, with a passel of products from Billy Jealousy. Pappy will love the smooth shave, pleasant citrus aftershave, hydrating moisturizer and his beaming new countenance. And we’ve recently added shampoo and gel to the line up, so he’s well-coiffed, as well.

And we’ve no shortage of shirts, long-sleeves and short. Give Baba the comfort of natural fabrics like cotton and linen, so cool for our warming Northwest weather.

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads and a big Mahalo for being Momo men.

Short Sleeve Shirt Season (Soon!)

April showers are nearing an end, washing away the memories of chilly winter weather. Thoughts of summer aren’t far behind — nor are thoughts of updating your summer wardrobe. Today, for the Momo Gents: short sleeve shirts galore!
Kahala Hawaiian shirts, available in three colors!
These Hawaiian print shirts from Kahala fill us with happy anticipation of backyard barbeques and frosty drinks sporting tiny umbrellas. Kahala, a Hawaiian clothing company founded in 1936, prides itself on durability (while maintaing a healthy sense of playfulness). They use pigment dyes and enzyme washes on their shirts, giving them a soft, broken-in look and feel.

The “Nuku Hiva” pattern.
“Tapa” pattern.
For the Momo Man who is seeking a less tropical look, we have a selection of shirts from New York’s WRK. Tailored for a slimmer fit, the WRK shirts work really well for layering — invaluable during our mercurial spring weather.

Retro Polynesian print on sunflower yellow = summer.
Blue and white plaid is a long-standing classic.
Love love love the Swiss dot texture of this shirt!

Retro Cool, Aloha Style

Sipping tropical drinks beneath fluttering palms, strolling on a sun-soaked beach, relaxing in stylish retro short sleeves ... Momo can provide you with one of these fantasy situations — guess which one?

Spring into the aloha vibe with our genuine Hawaiian shirts.

Since 1936, Kahala Sportswear has been producing distinctive, high-quality “Waikiki beach boy” clothing. Their fusion of playful prints and subtle colors make Kahala shirts a great match for Seattle men.

Iolani Sport in black.
IoSport, from 50-year-old family-owned Iolani, provides a brilliant mix of old and new. Mid-century modern detailing paired with antibacterial moisture-wicking fabric make these shirts practical, cutting edge and cool. A handsome stripe and embroidered Tiki head will put you in the mood for a mai tai and some 1950’s lounge music. Okole maluna!
