Shirts You’ll Love, Far Beyond Fall

Today’s busy man wants go-to pieces in his closet that he can rely on to look good, wear well and convey style. Our goal at Momo is to find distinctive brands for men with the right combination of quality, craft and price. Two of our favorites are & Sons Garment Co. from Toronto and Bruun & Stengade of Copenhagen.

& Sons may become your favorite shirt maker. Why? By focusing only on crafting men’s shirts, & Sons produces a well-made garment with a casual elegance that you will want to wear every day. The quality starts with fabrics produced in small batches. The contemporary designs are anchored in a knowledge of classic tailoring, and executed with exact attention to detail.

Bruun & Stengade, a line from Copenhagen, offers shirts with continental style in both modern and slim fits. Long gone are the days when the starched white shirt was de rigueur business attire. Bruun & Stengade’s unique textures and sophisticated color palate looks sharp from the corridors of business to the weekend dinner party. These shirts pair well with jeans to blazers, offering smart versatility to any man’s wardrobe.

Momo Man : Fall Fashion

Greetings Gentlemen (and lovely ladies who might be assisting with a gentleman’s wardrobe)! Momo is freshly stocked with an assortment of suave shirts sure to spruce up your autumn/winter season.

From Pendleton’s Thomas Kay collection, the “Grant” shirt. Made with 100% pure virgin Umatilla wool in a micro glen plaid, this is a quintessential PNW classic with an updated tailored fit.

Pendleton is a Northwest classic.

Momo is well-stocked with New York's WRK “Northmill” hoodie in a heathered grey. Soft and lightweight, it’s a perfect middle layer for the upcoming chilly days. Shown beneath the hoodie is the jersey version of the famous Saint James sailor shirt. Thinner than the woven version, this is a great way to layer Saint James without feeling bulky.

Soft and cozy WRK hoodie + jersey Saint James.

Report is a Montreal-based clothing company known for their European styling and wide-ranging fit. Shown is the “Mono Tone” shirt in a handsome black and charcoal print. We also have gingham in maroon or indigo and a terrific white/grey/navy plaid.

We are loving this elegant color and print.

Portland‘s Bridge & Burn is a terrific option for the tall and slender Momo man. Slim-fitting with an extended arm length, we love the rich weave of the “Depoe” shirt.

Perfect for that tall drink of water.
Stock up before it’s time to bundle up! Mister Momo has put together a wide-ranging and handsome collection for you. We’re certain you’ll find something to suit your taste.

From Tokyo With Love

Fresh from Tokyo, New arrivals at Momo! 100% cotton unisex shirts and tees.

Crewz Clothing was founded in 1970 and has been crafting high-quality goods since. Crewz is best known for modernizing traditional designs, as exemplified by our unisex shirt riffing on the classic kimono. Momo has these luxuriously thick, slub-cotton tops in slate grey or a rich chocolate brown. Tie a tenegui around your neck and you’ll have a fresh take on Japanese style.

Slub-cotton unisex shirts available in slate grey and chocolate brown.

Buden Shouten, a sportswear offshoot of Crewz, offers the same superior quality with a spin on Japanese pop culture. Playful graphics are expertly screened onto dense cotton tees. Both the front and the back of each t-shirt has a fun image or kanji.

Rei translates to “Zero” or “Nothing”

Buden Shouten graphic tees feature an array of designs.

If you love Japanese styling, traditional or modern (or a mix!) come down and try on a tee or two. See you at Momo.

Short Sleeve Shirt Season (Soon!)

April showers are nearing an end, washing away the memories of chilly winter weather. Thoughts of summer aren’t far behind — nor are thoughts of updating your summer wardrobe. Today, for the Momo Gents: short sleeve shirts galore!
Kahala Hawaiian shirts, available in three colors!
These Hawaiian print shirts from Kahala fill us with happy anticipation of backyard barbeques and frosty drinks sporting tiny umbrellas. Kahala, a Hawaiian clothing company founded in 1936, prides itself on durability (while maintaing a healthy sense of playfulness). They use pigment dyes and enzyme washes on their shirts, giving them a soft, broken-in look and feel.

The “Nuku Hiva” pattern.
“Tapa” pattern.
For the Momo Man who is seeking a less tropical look, we have a selection of shirts from New York’s WRK. Tailored for a slimmer fit, the WRK shirts work really well for layering — invaluable during our mercurial spring weather.

Tailored short sleeve shirts from WRK.

Retro Polynesian print on sunflower yellow = summer.
Blue and white plaid is a long-standing classic.
Love love love the Swiss dot texture of this shirt!
Drop by and let our Momo Hula Girl inspire your summer update!

“Aloha kau wela!”

Sprucing Up for Spring, Momo-Man Style

Spring has arrived and with it, spring and summer clothing. Hooray! The holiday season decimated our Momo Men clothing selection, so we are especially happy to be receiving more pieces by the day. So, for your perusal, a small taste of what you can currently find in store:

Rodd & Gunn Italian linen shirts are luxurious, durable and perfect for the seasons ahead. Based out of New Zealand, Rodd & Gunn focuses on natural fibers like linen, cotton, wool and leather. We have two colors of their linen button-up shirts: a classic royal blue and yellow plaid and a subtle dusty teal.

Gorgeous soft linen weave.

Dusty grey-green Italian linen by Rodd & Gunn.
The Wolf & Man vest is both stylish and utilitarian. We love the pockets on the back of this piece! Details like this are what elevate an article of clothing to a higher level. Wolf & Man is an independent menswear line based out of Los Angeles. Momo was fortunate to be visited recently by the two young men who started this company. Charming guys who truly believe in their fashion vision.

The Wolf & Man vest has a modern twist on a classic design.
Pockets on the back - brilliant!
Shown layered beneath the Wolf & Man vest is a terrific shirt by Report Collection, a contemporary sportswear company based out of Montreal. Again, details are what make a piece really special. Report Collection shirts always feature playful patterns tucked away on the lining of cuffs and plackets.

Fun floral details make this Report shirt special.

Check back for updates on new arrivals! In the meantime, stay dry and enjoy the random bursts of sunshine.

Fall Fashion for Les Hommes At Momo

Momo was lucky enough to be one of the boutiques invited to participate in the Downtown Seattle Rocks the Runway show last Wednesday at Pacific Place. We love being able to see what our fellow shopkeepers are offering and what designs we can expect to see gracing Seattle’s lovely streets. For our part, Momo showcased a number of our latest fall fashions, including:

This handsome model is sporting our iconic Saint James “Meridien II” in Navy/Caramel and the “Portobello” waxed cotton jacket by Rodd & Gunn. He’s topped of with a wool pub cap made by New York Hat Co. and an AU waxed canvas tote.

This sharp gent wore jeans by local designer Tarboo, as well as Tarboo’s “Explorer’ shirt with a Pendleton zip-front jacket. Accentuating this ensemble is a New York Hat Co. canvas hat and Vivi scarf. That’s just a small sample of the new fall season men’s clothing that’s been pouring in. Here are a few more things you can find at Momo:

Lightweight yet wind-resistant jacket by Bench is great for blustery days.
This lightweight olive green jacket (from UK company Bench) has been paired with a button-up shirt from New York designer Matteo Gottardi’s W.R.K.
These colors are perfect for a Seattle autumn day.
7 Diamonds “Premium” shirt sports a versatile small checkered pattern in slate and earth tones.

Layering season is upon us, and Momo has clothing to keep you feeling good and looking even better.  Stop by, say “hi” and get yourself geared up for fall.

Aloha, Iolani

Momo Mama and Mr. Momo are back! Back from the tropical paradise known as Hawaii, that is. Nor did they return empty-handed. Fresh from Oahu, Momo has a new batch of Iolani clothing.

Momo Men are undoubtedly familiar with our Iolani button-ups. They epitomize easy-to-wear, retro-cool shirts that are an essential for any summer wardrobe.

A NYHC straw hat adds a jaunty touch to this chocolate brown Iolani shirt
We’re also excited to inform you that Momo has a new Iolani design scheduled to arrive soon (we're shooting for before Father's Day): the “Imua” shirt in navy blue. Stay tuned!

For Momo Girls, we have striking Iolani dresses in graphic black and white prints. Wear them loose for a casual day out, or belted for a Tory Burch look (at a fraction of the cost). These super comfortable dresses look great with a pair of strappy sandals.
