Spring Into Color

“I like light, color, luminosity. I like things full of color and vibrant.” ~Oscar de la Renta

Spring has officially arrived. The weather is warming, flowers are emerging, color is blooming. It’s time to trade in our winter greys and blacks for some cheerful hues. Spring clothing is arriving daily at Momo, including these bright happy pieces:

Raffi clothing is a family business led by Raffi Shaya, who is attributed with having an “almost clairvoyant ability to forecast color.” We won’t argue! We are loving out newest pure linen shirts, available in a playful pink and a delicious summery blue.

100% linen Raffi shirts in pink and cornflower blue.

Brand new and fresh from Hawaii: Pitacus by Lisa Wiemken. Lisa’s clothing is made in Hawaii from vibrant Japanese textiles. What always thrills us? Dresses with pockets! Pitacus’ oversized patch pockets add a measure of practicality belied by the playful fabric.

A gentle way to ease into spring color (we know it can be a shock to the system after six months of drizzle and monochrome) is to accessorize with a pop of color! I. Ronni Kappos masterfully combines her treasure trove of vintage German glass components into happy bright jewelry. Momo has a brand new batch of her creations, the perfect greeting for spring.

His & Hers : Bridge & Burn

The Momos in Vegas, modeling Fall 2015.
Since 2009 Portland’s Bridge and Burn has been producing classically Northwest clothing: practical yet stylish, durable yet versatile. In characteristic Portland spirit, 1% of Bridge and Burn’s retail sales are donated to their favorite Oregon charities.

Momo has long been enamored of our B&B men's shirts. The textiles, craftsmanship and attention to detail makes us feel good about sharing them with you. We’re excited to announce that we are now stocking Bridge and Burn clothing ... for women!

For Her: the “Loren” shirt-dress. Weighty textural cotton in a super fine indigo pinstripe, we think this dress is perfect year-round. Layer it over leggings and throw on a cozy cardigan for chilly rainy days, or wear it with strappy sandals in the summer.

For Him: the casually tailored “Porteau” shirt is patterned with a subtle yet handsome deep indigo grid.

For Her and Him: scarves. Thick woven cotton and generously sized. We adore these for spring.

Spring Has Sprung!

If there is one thing that Pacific Northwesterners are truly appreciative of, it is the onset of spring. Sunshine, warm breezes, bursts of color as flowers and trees begin to bloom ... all of these things bring smiles to our faces and lightness to our step.

Today Momo would like to pay tribute to the end of winter with fun photos of the many splashes of color to be seen when you visit. Happy April, everyone!

Yes, that's right – NO SALES TAX. Come say hi and take a gander at our newest arrivals, and sale stuff, too. Perhaps you'll find a way to take advantage of our tax-free tax day!

Sprucing Up for Spring, Momo-Man Style

Spring has arrived and with it, spring and summer clothing. Hooray! The holiday season decimated our Momo Men clothing selection, so we are especially happy to be receiving more pieces by the day. So, for your perusal, a small taste of what you can currently find in store:

Rodd & Gunn Italian linen shirts are luxurious, durable and perfect for the seasons ahead. Based out of New Zealand, Rodd & Gunn focuses on natural fibers like linen, cotton, wool and leather. We have two colors of their linen button-up shirts: a classic royal blue and yellow plaid and a subtle dusty teal.

The Wolf & Man vest is both stylish and utilitarian. We love the pockets on the back of this piece! Details like this are what elevate an article of clothing to a higher level. Wolf & Man is an independent menswear line based out of Los Angeles. Momo was fortunate to be visited recently by the two young men who started this company. Charming guys who truly believe in their fashion vision.

The Wolf & Man vest has a modern twist on a classic design.
Pockets on the back - brilliant!
Shown layered beneath the Wolf & Man vest is a terrific shirt by Report Collection, a contemporary sportswear company based out of Montreal. Again, details are what make a piece really special. Report Collection shirts always feature playful patterns tucked away on the lining of cuffs and plackets.

Fun floral details make this Report shirt special.

Check back for updates on new arrivals! In the meantime, stay dry and enjoy the random bursts of sunshine.

Promise

Every spring, a minor miracle occurs at Momo: our orchids bloom anew. Gifted to us by thoughtful customers when we opened in 2007, year ’round the tropical plants revel in the shy Seattle sun as they warm in our windows. Nurtured with reverent neglect, they reward us with brilliant blossoms that last for many weeks. Traditionally, orchids represent love and beauty, both of which we feel abundantly blessed by. We see them as symbols of perseverance and renewal — that at Momo, as we carry on, we might bring a bit of hope, happy ... and Hawai'i, into your world.
